Drugs and Schedules

Well, as advertised, I am going to keep my adoring fans (hey T-Dub) informed on the happenings around the league. This morning I was informed (by T-dub) that a certain Chargers linebacker was being suspended four games for substance abuse. Now, I know what you are all thinking....boy what did Merriman do this time? Well, it was actually Stephen Cooper, the sixth year pro out of Maine, who led the Chargers with 179 tackles.

The 2008 NFL schedule was released yesterday, and there are a few things I feel I should touch on. First, we will get yet another epic match up in the Patriots-Colts feud. The Colts will be hosting the Pats in week nine, on a Sunday nighter. Secondly, the guys on NFL network had a nice rant on the fact that the Browns will be featured in FIVE prime time games. Yes, no typo, five prime time games for a team that didn`t make the playoffs, and doesn`t really have a superstar. Injustice? Probably, but really....who doesn`t want to watch the Brownies this year? On a final note, who else is looking forward to the Opening night festivities between the Giants and Skins? Should be a dandy. And, in what is possibly the worst marketing plan in history, the first regular season game in Canada will be a sure-fire preview of the AFC Championship (not) between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins. Enough said.
Just a few more nuggets before I sign off today:
-The Eagles are still trying to unload Lito Sheppard
-The Saints re-signed Deuce McAllister
-The Chiefs are trying real hard to unload the fifth overall pick
and
-Pac Man Jones is delaying his application for reinstatement....probably too busy at the strip club to care....
