The moves are slowing down now, but there have been a couple new faces on the free agency market over the past few days.
First off, Orlando Pace.
Shocking? Maybe, but not really. Pace has been a rock on the St Louis offensive line for over 10 years, but let's be frank, he just doesn't dominate like he used to. Pace has struggled with injuries the past few years, so he was expendable.
This all but determines the Rams go OT with the second overall pick. Jeez, how do you manage to snag the second overall pick two years in a row? Anywho, Pace will now make a solid two-to-three year fix for a team in search of OT help. The Eagles just lost Tra Thomas, so maybe he fits there. Detroit is in need of a new team, and Pace could help. All in all, Pace shouldn't be on the market too long, after all, this has been a great offseason to sign aging veterans who are over the hill.
Also on the FA list is former Panther Ken Lucas. The veteran corner has some good years left in him. He is just past the 30 mark on the age bracket, and has been a starter for much of his career. While I don't think he ranks among the elite any more, he still can be a solid starter on many teams. Maybe a team like Dallas looks at him, but I believe they want to get younger at the position.
