So Long, Farewell

If you thought last season was crazy, wait for what could be in store for 2009. Already in the league new year we have seen a number of prominent veteran players released from the teams that they have helped make famous. Don't believe me?

Marvin Harrison
Derrick Brooks
Terrell Owens
Joey Galloway
Torry Holt
Chris McAlister
Deuce McAlister

Get the picture?

It seems you take the best player from each team three years ago, and put that player on the free agent list. What a mess.

Speaking of a mess, how about them Broncos? Jay Cutler requests a trade. How interesting, seeing this all started because he was mad he was on the trade block. Hmmm. Both sides need to realize they need each other and settle this mess before they do something they will regret.

In other news:

- The Jaguars have released troubled WR Matt Jones. Jones, the former first round pick, was having a career year last season before getting suspended for off-the-field issues. Jones is a big threat in the red zone, and if he can keep his nose clean, could be a huge help for someone next year.
- The Lions seem to be making the right moves so far this offseason. Picking up Anthony Henry for Jon Kitna was a plus. Now, they traded over-rated DT Cory Redding to the Seahawks for LB Julian Peterson. Peterson will join Ernie Sims and Jordan Dizon to form a solid LB corps for the hapless Lions. Too bad they will likely screw the whole situation up by overdrafting Matt Stafford.

MOCK DRAFT COMING SOON
